The Itinerary

Day 1 : Arrival to Istanbul
Arrival to Istanbul Ataturk Airport and meet for transfer to the hotel, remainder of the day and evening free at leisure. Overnight in Istanbul.

Day 2 : Istanbul
Enjoy a full day tour including a visit to Topkapi Palace, residence of the Ottoman Sultans between 1453–1852 (excluding harem). Visit the Hippodrome, which was once the center of life where chariot racing and other public events took place. Tour the Blue Mosque built between 1609 and 1616, famous for its blue ceramic tiles. Your last stop will be the famous Grand Bazaar, the world’s largest and oldest covered market with over 60 streets. Optional dinner with belly dancing entertainment. (B)

Day 3 : Istanbul to Ankara
This morning depart on an optional tour of St. Sophia, a church built in the 6th century Byzantine capital, converted to a mosque by the Ottomans, and now a museum and one of the world’s greatest architectural wonders. Also, choose to embark on a half-day Bosphorus cruise enjoying the strait that separates Asia and Europe. Its shores are lined with fine neighborhoods, Ottoman palaces, fortresses, old wooden villas, hotels, parks and gardens, restaurants and cafés. In the afternoon depart for the capital city of Ankara for overnight stay. (BD)

Day 4 : Ankara to Cappadocia
Morning visit to the Museum of Anatolian Civilizations and the Mausoleum of Ataturk, father of modern Turkey. Then depart on to Cappadocia with stop at a a 13th century caravanserai en route. Also visit the underground city of Saratli, one of the many underground settlements built for protection and religious reasons. Overnight in Cappadocia. (BD)

Day 5 : Cappadocia
Early morning optional hot air balloon ride. After breakfast, visit Goreme Open Air Museum, Avanos, Pasabagi for the famous fairy chimneys and Red Valley. Dinner and overnight in Cappadocia. (BD)

Day 6 : Cappadocia to Pamukkale
Morning depart on the drive to Pamukkale with a stop along the way to visit the famous mausoleum of the Sufi philosopher Mevlana. Dinner and overnight in Pamukkale. (BD)

Day 7 : Pamukkale to Kusadasi
Early morning visit the unique travertens of Pamukkale, also known as the "Cotton Castle". Also visit the ruins of one of the first modern spa centers of the ancient world, Hierapolis. Then depart to Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi. (BD)

Day 8 : Ephesus
Morning tour the famous ruins of Ephesus along with a visit to the house of Virgin Mary. Afternoon Optional: tour of Sardis or Sirince. Dinner and overnight in Kusadasi. (BD)

Day 9 : Pergamum & Troy
Depart on the drive to Bergama and tour the ancient Medical Center Asclepion in Pergamum. Then on to Troy and visit its famous wooden horse, best known for being the setting of the Trojan War and many cities built on top of each other. Continue to Canakkale for overnight. (BD)

Day 10 : Gallipoli to Istanbul
In the morning depart for Gallipoli, the site of many battles during WWI. Visit Anzac Cove, Lone Pine Cemetery and Chunuk Bair, and then drive to Istanbul for overnight (B)

Day 11 : Departure
Breakfast, check-out and transfer to Istanbul Ataturk Airport. (B)
